In November 2017, my mentor teacher nominated me as the spotlight teacher candidate for Fulton County School’s Student Teacher Education Program (GOFirst STEP). The month of November focused on listening to student perspectives to guide teaching.

At the end of GSU’s education programs each year, a student is selected by professors and staff as the “Outstanding M.A.T. Student” for his/her cohort. I was lucky enough to be the 2018 recipient for English Education.
